Travel magazine writer Tilly is headed west on assignment and to visit her family for Christmas. She dreads their pushing marriage on her after her boyfriend cheated her. Ethan, a staid meteorologist, is headed east to propose to his stable girlfriend. Meanwhile Tilly’s family is arranging a date for Tilly with Ethan’s best friend Paul, which Tilly vehemently opposes and which Ethan fears will hurt Paul the way he was hurt by a glamorous woman. As the two travel in opposite directions, they get caught in a blizzard and hole up together. Ethan discovers Tilly is a wonderful, caring person, but when his girlfriend dumps him he has to suppress his growing love for Tilly, as Paul hopes she will be his girlfriend. Tilly falls for Ethan, but understands he needs time to heal. She doesn’t know Ethan is in on her family setting her up with Paul until she finds out the hard way.
